Hey everyone,

I’ve realized my followers have increased and I want to thank all of you for your wonderful support! I also want to apologize for not posting since like forever! But I was on my vacation at Mauritius Island! Of course it was fabulous! It was a very exciting trip we parasailed, quad-biked, horse ride, and even went on a submarine, so much fun! It’s such a special place and I think everyone should go there, the people are so exotic and interesting most of them speak from 4 to 5 languages (English, French, Mauritian, Urdu, and Arabic)

Random information about Mauritius Island:

* Uninhabited until the 17th century, the island was ruled first by the Dutch and then by the French after the Dutch abandoned it. The British took control during the Napoleonic Wars and Mauritius became independent from the UK in 1968.

* The island of Mauritius is renowned for having been the only known home of the dodo. First sighted by Europeans around 1600 on Mauritius, the dodo became extinct less than eighty years later.

Anyways hope you enjoy my shots of this beautiful heaven on earth! I’ll be posting about my art adventure very soon..

For years I’ve been lusting over this big canvas sold at an Art store I’ve faithfully been going to for the past 2 and a half years. It’s the biggest and whitest canvas in the store, it’s very glorious I tell you! I always wanted it, but never got the guts to buy it, because buying it meant I had to turn it to a masterful piece of art!

But as I started this project (of finishing 23 paintings) I decided that I might as well reward myself for my commitment and go ahead and get that amazing big canvas! But oh no! Due to my lack of fortune, the big canvas has been already sold to some guy called Ali! I couldn’t believe it, my beloved canvas that has been waiting for me all these years is now someone else’s beloved canvas.

I was going to burst into tears right on the spot, but I pulled my tears back and bought the second biggest canvas in the store. As you can see from the picture below it’s (150x100), to feel more content with myself I bought three of them. Yes I am quite damn happy right now.

To some people abstract paintings are meaningless, just splatters of random colors on a piece of canvas. To me, abstract paintings are a way to express my self (cliché I know, but I’m serious) the colors I use are the colors of my life, the lines, brush stains all show my mental thinking.

I honestly think that the paintings I paint when I’m happy are more delightful than the ones I paint when let’s say I’m angry.

Anyways, here’s an abstract painting I’ve been working on, I’m loving the style of it and the effects. This painting is literally the product of my anger, funny how a person’s best work appears when they’re angry or sad. Don’t you think?

Dear Readers,

I was in a painting mood and was ready to work on the second painting. Got out several small canvas and started to work! worked on the background for several days (waited for the paint to dry to create an effect with alcohol to give a dissolved effect)

Result. HATE IT HATE IT HATE IT. can i say hate it one more time? yes Hate it.

Conclusion. Painting on a small canvas is to constricting for me. should never paint in small canvases period.

Dear Amazon,

As a child looking though a magazine, i always wished to be able to click on the object of my desire and get it delivered to my door step. And here you come into my life Amazon and do exactly that (However the wish was that it would be free of charge, but no worries we are working on it).

Thank you for the most amazing books about art! i'm currently reading Painting Abstracts by Rolina Van Vliet. It has truly inspired me and gave me the push i needed towards abstract art.
And i must admit the occasional regency romance book does help lighten up your mood. I hope our friendship grow and prosper.

Your loyal friend,

A.
